About Me

Care for Working Performers

I’m a Licensed Acupuncturist in California (M.A. in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine), and I work with professional musicians and performing artists who are dealing with the aches, tension, numbness, and fatigue that come with doing what you do. I grew up in a family of musicians, and watching my brother push through pain until he couldn’t play made this personal for me. I bring orthopedic and sports medicine training into each session, and I’m glad to support you here in Los Angeles.

Frequently Asked Questions

During your first visit, we will talk about what you are experiencing physically — where the pain or tension shows up, what your playing and performance schedule looks like, and what your body needs most right now. From there, I will develop a treatment plan and begin the session. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles at specific points. Most clients find it far less uncomfortable than they expect, and many feel deeply relaxed during treatment. Sessions typically last about an hour. You do not need to prepare anything special — just have a quiet space available where you can lie down comfortably.
If you are experiencing pain, tension, numbness, fatigue, or repetitive strain related to your work as a performer, acupuncture is well-suited to address those concerns. My advanced training in orthopedic acupuncture and sports medicine means I work specifically with musculoskeletal issues and the physical demands of repetitive, high-precision movement. The free phone consultation is a good opportunity to describe what you are experiencing and hear whether this approach makes sense for your situation.
There is no minimum commitment. Some clients come weekly during heavy work periods, others schedule sessions as needed around tours or recording blocks. During our first visit, I will suggest a frequency based on what your body needs and what your schedule allows. You are always free to adjust as your workload changes.
The bundle gives you six sessions at a reduced overall cost — approximately $505 less than booking six individual sessions separately. There is no strict timeline for using them, so they work well even with an unpredictable calendar. You schedule each session as it fits your life. It is a good option if you know you want ongoing care but do not want to think about payment each time.
Most clients notice changes in how their body feels during and after work — less tension buildup, quicker recovery, reduced intensity of recurring pain. I check in at each session about what has shifted and what remains. Progress is not always linear, especially during heavy performance periods, but over several sessions we can usually identify clear patterns of improvement in your day-to-day physical experience.
Text is the fastest way to reach me for booking and any day-of changes. I respond between sessions and travel as quickly as I can. If you need to reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice, that is always welcome. I understand that performing schedules shift without warning, and I do my best to work with you when things change unexpectedly.
Yes, I am happy to connect you with references upon request. I work with professional musicians and performers who can speak to their experience with my practice. Just let me know during your consultation or by text, and I will arrange an introduction.

What People Say

"After weeks of rehearsals, I was dealing with constant tension in my neck, shoulder, and forearm. Elena came to my rehearsal space, understood exactly how the pain was affecting my playing, and treated me without disrupting my schedule. Within a few sessions, I felt more comfortable performing and much less worried that the strain would turn into something that forced me to stop."
